Volunteering Opportunities at The Mix

We have lots of different opportunities to volunteer here at The Mix.

To find out more about the opportunities available check out our 'Volunteering at The Mix' page on The Mix.

To hear from some of the volunteers who do these roles visit our 'Meet the volunteers' page.

For more information check out this discussion and to get started (or get more involved) please contact Ed Emond, Advice and Training Manager here on the network or via email

Welcome on board!

Welcome to the The Mix volunteer network, the central place for all The Mix volunteers to hang out online, speak to your volunteer manager and get updates from us here at The Mix HQ.  You can introduce yourself to everyone in this thread.

If you're a new volunteer please check out the Welcome to YouthNet and Induction to YouthNet discussions which will give you all the information you need to know about the charity and it's services as well as the documents you need to get started as a volunteer.

If you're not familiar with how a network like this works, or you are already a volunteer at The Mix but new to this group, please check out our Finding your way around discussion.  Here you'll find information on why we set up this new network and how it can benefit you.

If you are not already registered you'll need to sign up to be able to add to discussions, join groups and interact with other volunteers.

You can also request to join the group related to your role where you'll be able to find and connect with other volunteers in the same role as you.  To find your relevant group(s) please check out the groups section.

Yo Dudes!

So this weekender was a bit different for me cos I got the opportunity to go to London a day early and help do some prep for the weekender, it was so cool to see what happens behind the scenes and all the hard work that goes into a weekender it was nice to be able to help too.

So after a boring train journey and getting lost on the way, I finally arrived at YouthNet offices, only like 20 minutes later than I expected, it was time to get to work..

My first…

Hey Everybody
I thought it would be super cool to blog about what had happened on the Sunday at the weekender and give others who couldn't attend an insight to what we all got up to.
On the Sunday to start the day we all met for breakfast at the travel lodge which was lovely and had a bit of chill time before we headed back to YouthNet HQ. I had been up very early so I was pretty sleepy for breakfast but the walk to the offices woke me up a little…

Kidney Research…

It looks as if the Prime Minister has got something right in regards to facebook. The fact that facebook has started to allow violent/graphic videos is disgusting! Who knows where they will go next? It will be more serious if they start to show sexual content.
